SUPERVISORY MISSION SUPPORT SPECIALIST

The work provides complex administrative services, including, but not limited to, management and information systems, budget, finance, procurement, personnel, telecommunications, logistics, records and files, printing, mail, travel, and office equipment. Specifically you will:
Identify ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of these services at the local level and provide representation for the office in dealings with vendors and organizations within the agency that have primary responsibility for these services; Plan the work to be accomplished by your subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of the work based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees and evaluate work performance of subordinates; Interview candidates for positions in the unit; recommend appointment, promotion or reassignment to such positions; Effect minor disciplinary measures; promote affirmative action/equal employment opportunity programs; identify developmental training needs of employees, provide and arrange for needed development and training; and Find ways to improve productivity or increase the quality of the work directed; and/or develop performance standards You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the federal service, performing duties such as:
Performing or supervising functional specialties such as budget, management analysis, human resources management, training, logistics/procurement, security, and safety. Applying and modifying, if required, established practices to specific administrative problems, including how to treat unusual circumstances or situations; conducting independent evaluations of administrative functions; Preparing study findings, recommendations, and reports as well as providing advice on a variety of administrative and management programs and procedures; Making agreements and commitments at meetings and during telephone discussions; and Performing liaison functions with other organizations, including effectively presenting the organization's needs and establishing harmonious working relations with counterparts. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Current or Former Political Appointees:
The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
