SUPVY MANAGEMENT & PROGRAM ANALYST

Joining Customs & Border Protection will allow you to use your expertise to analyze and advise management on a wide range of program activities which will impact the entire agency. This position starts at a salary of $88,704.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $115,313.00 (GS-13, Step 10) with promotion potential to $115,313.00 (GS-13 Step 10). In this position, you will supervise a group of employees who are responsible for assessing the productivity, effectiveness, and efficiency of program operations or who analyze and resolve problems in the effectiveness and efficiency of administrative support and staff activities. Typical work assignments include:
Providing technical and administrative supervision to the unit Establishing and carrying out specific action plans for accomplishing short-term goals and objectives Developing procedures and techniques and furnishing policy guidance to subordinates Coordinating with other supervisors and peers to establish unit objectives, goals, priorities and deadlines Make decisions and resolve problems involving interpretation of the law or application of CBP policy Establish production standards and prepare performance work plans and appraisals
Experience:
You qualify for the 13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:
Conducting studies, analyzing findings, and making recommendations on operating programs that required knowledge of qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques. Knowledge of the mission, organization, and work processes of the programs and the relationships of administrative support activities; analyzing complex functions. Work processes including examining production standards, workloads, nonproductive time, and deviations from standards to determine validated staffing requirements. Performing a variety of analytical studies and projects related to management improvement, productivity improvement, management controls, and long-range planning, including developing guidance on techniques for management and methods improvement; analyzing. Advising on proposed reorganizations or realignment of functions; and developing manuals and directives covering the administrative aspects of field operations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must:
Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 10/07/2019. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
